     The plum-shaped elastic coupling has a simple structure, a small number of parts, a small radial dimension, and does not require lubrication; the elastic element has a high bearing capacity under pressure. Except for the double-flange type plum-shaped elastic coupling, the half-coupling needs to be moved axially when the wearing parts are replaced with the plum-shaped elastic coupling. This elastic coupling has a certain ability to compensate for the relative offset of the two shafts. The plum-shaped elastic coupling is to install an integral plum-shaped        elastic ring between the claws of two half-couplings with the same shape, so as to realize the connection of the two half-couplings. The power is transmitted through the extrusion between the convex claw and the elastic ring, and the relative offset of the two shafts is compensated by the elastic deformation of the elastic ring to realize vibration reduction and buffering. This elastic coupling has been standardized, five structural forms formulated by GB/T5272-2002: LM type (basic type), LMD type (single flange type), LMS type (double flange type), LMZ-I type (split brake wheel type) and LNZ-II (full brake wheel type). Each form has 14 specifications, they are suitable for shaft hole diameter d=12-160mm, shaft hole length L=35-135mm, nominal torque T=25-25000N.m, allowable speed [n]=1500- 15300r.min. The mechanical characteristics of the power machine have a certain influence on the entire transmission system. Different types of power machines have different mechanical characteristics, so the corresponding power machine coefficient KW should be selected, and the coupling suitable for the system should be selected. The category of the power machine is the basic factor for selecting the variety of the plum blossom elastic coupling; the power of the power machine is one of the main basis for determining the size of the coupling, which is proportional to the torque of the coupling.

     The relative displacement of the two shafts connected by the plum blossom coupling is caused by various factors such as manufacturing error, assembly error, installation error, shaft load and deformation, base deformation, bearing wear, temperature change, and relative movement between components. . In general, the relative displacement of the two shafts is unavoidable, but the direction of the state equilibrium displacement generated by the shafting transmission under different working conditions, that is, the axial, radial and angular directions and the magnitude of the displacement are different. Only flexible couplings can compensate for the relative displacement of the two shafts, so a large number of flexible couplings are selected in practical applications. Rigid couplings do not have a compensatory range of applications, so they are used very little. Universal coupling should be used for shafting transmission with large angular displacement; diaphragm coupling should be used for shafting transmission with axial movement and need to control axial displacement; only in the case of high alignment accuracy Only use rigid couplings.
